Boarding the Pan Am Lounge Berlin

Welcome to your flight!

Our jovial stewardesses will welcome you and your guests down in the lobby of Eden House. After receiving your welcoming drink, you will be safely escorted in the lift, straight up into the tenth-floor penthouse.

The cubic wall-light design of the Foyer will skyjack your senses right into the 1960s. From there, a view of the Lounge unfolds at once to reveal the pleasant openness of its interior and invites the guest to peruse the space. Allow yourself to be accompanied by one of our attentive stewardesses. She will be more than happy to escort you around the premises, guide you to your place or respond to any requests you may have.

With the Pan Am Lounge, the airline aimed at providing a home away from home for its crew members while on the far side of the Atlantic. Eden House, at the center of West Berlin, presented the perfect location for providing overnight accommodation. The entire complex soon proved a hub of activity for crew members abroad. They used the apartments on all floors for overnight stays, so that the high-rise was eventually graced with the nickname the “Pan Am Ghetto.” The lockers in the Lounge were relegated to the various apartments. Following the demise of the airline, the premises fell into disuse and the keys to the lockers disappeared, never to surface again. What things and stories the lockers may hold are thus likely to remain an unsolved mystery forevermore.
